I had some high expectations for this gig, and they were more than met. I can't possibly explain this band. Just go to their labarinthian website. One of the best shows of the year. Let me put it this way. I am a huge !!! fan, but after LD Section II played... I couldn't even pay attention to the !!! set. Next time.

This is my buddy Aaron at Cafe Diem open mike night. This was his last night in RVA. He sang a Daniel johnson song about moving to a city of vampires and then becoming one. It was brilliant and powerful in an awkward way, which was perfect.

Great live..... doomy crusty and heavy. It took me back. There where 2 guitars and 1 bassist, they all shared vocals and played like pros. Great to have shared a stage with them. Strangely enough, the drummers reminded me of the Fall circa Live at The Witch Trials. Tight, subtley simple and heavy hitters.

Bruce, vocalist and sax player of the band Yakusa graced the stage played live on the Hex Machine song "Paristalysis Hilton". There is a mini-disc recording of this somewhere.
